Rocky Gibbons Peterson

Rocky Gibbons Peterson was born in Price, Utah and grew up in Mammoth, near Tucson, in southern Arizona. Her third grade teacher at Mammoth Elementary, Elizabeth Plunkett, instilled a love of writing in her. Rocky is descended of a long line of Mormon pioneers and cowboys.


Her writing career began in the '70's, when she was employed as an advertising copywriter for KCPX Radio in Salt Lake City. After that she worked as a Media Buyer for various ad agencies in Salt Lake CIty for almost twenty years. She also spent several years in Kalispell and Columbia Falls, Montana (loved the summers, hated the winters!), and now resides in southern Utah with her husband, Weston Peterson, and their two Pomeranians, Elkie and Shiloh.(Moose passed away in 2010)


Rocky is a member of the Western Writers of America and the Western Music Association
